APPROACH
EVIDENCE-BASED
My approach to therapy is integrative, which means I draw from a variety of evidence-based psychological frameworks. Each person is an expert on their own life and brings their unique experiences and preferences. My goal is to create a collaborative working relationship and to remain adaptable and responsive. With this in mind, I tailor my approach to address your specific concerns and evolving needs.
-
We might explore your core values, use mindfulness, and make shifts in your behaviour, with the goal of increasing psychological flexibility (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, ACT).
-
EFT explores the role of emotions and attachment in human relationships and aims to improve relationships by gaining insight into emotional experiences, patterns, and reactions. This is a useful both for individuals and couples.
-
We are often hurt in relationships, but relationships are also a tremendous source of healing, so it may help to map out areas of connection and disconnection in your life (Relational-Cultural Therapy).
Your first session is usually about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what's been going on for you, your goals, and how I can best support you. Together we’ll make a plan.
-
Maybe you’re wanting to deepen your connection between your mind and body to feel more connected and whole (Embodiment and Mindfulness).
-
Perhaps you’d like to dive into parts work to foster more self-awareness and self-compassion (Internal Family Systems, IFS).
-
If you’re wanting to find healing from traumatic life experiences, we can use EMDR and/or Flash techniques to resolve trauma symptoms and shift toward healing and wellbeing.
